My friend's little guy will be celebrating his birthday this weekend and I thought this star card design would be perfectly suited for him. It uses bright, kid friendly colors and a fun card shape for something a little different. Making your cards a shape other than a square or rectangle really makes them stand out and it's super simple to do!
Find a die shape you want to use for your card - I used Star-Dom. Fold a piece of card stock and place the die so part of it is over your fold (image 1). Run it through your Journey Grand machine so everything is cut except your fold (images 2 & 3). You can see when the card opens (image 4) the fold is still intact.
I cut another star out of Limeade Splash to cover the missing point at the fold. I then cut stars out of Lemon Drop, Orange Creamsicle and Whip Cream after I had stamped Star Marquee (FREE with a $50 purchase!) in Beach Breeze ink. I hand cut a banner for the sentiment from Little BIG Greetings and popped all the layers up with Journey Foam Squares. Finally, I added a little bling with my favorite new embellishment - Journey Sequins in Blue Skies.
I have been stamping for 14 years and am thrilled to be one of the first Fun Stampers Journey Coaches in Ohio. It was my honor to serve on the 2016-2017 Leadership Team for Fun Stamper's Journey.
