Our friends recently had an adorable little girl and we were invited to her baptism this weekend.  This was the perfect opportunity to play with my new Color Cross bundle!!  The base of the card is bubble gum card stock layered with buttercream card stock and dark roast card stock that was stamped with the Vintage Notes stamp in buttercream ink.  I wanted a subtle, almost splotchy, background so I inked the Vintage Notes stamp very randomly and not completely.  I stamped the cross on buttercream card stock in dark roast ink and then stamped randomly over the cross with my Ink Splat stamp and bubble gum ink - Richard did this on his Leadership Retreat swap and I loved the idea!  I cut the cross using the coordinating die and my RG Amaze machine.  I hand cut the buttercream card stock banner for the sentiment (also from the Color Cross stamp set) and stamped it in dark roast ink with an overlay of Ink Splat in bubble gum ink.  I tied a bow using our new bubble gum checks satin ribbon around the dark roast card stock layer and then used my silver journey thread to tie a bow around the bubble gum bow.  I popped the cross and sentiment up using journey foam squares and embellished by adding pearls, rhinestones, special celebrations sequins and journey sparkle cuts adhered with journey glaze.

This guy was my first valentine of the season.  I think he's adorable and there's so much you can do with him!  Think outside the box - I have seen his bag filled with flowers, coffee, you name it, he can carry it!  This card has a base of candy apple card stock and I layered pool play on top.  The whip cream layer was stamped using the Lots of Love ATS with lovely blue ink for the background and the lineup wall was stamped in candy apple ink.  I added a strip of black and white striped printed paper from the Sweet Spring paper collection, layered with pool play sparkle tape and a hand cut banner in candy apple card stock stamped in black licorice ink.  I stamped hearts from the Love Bandit stamp set on pool play and candy apple card stock and die cut with the matching Love Bandit die set and RG Amaze.  I stamped THE love bandit himself on whip cream card stock with black licorice ink.  I colored him using my Journey Color Splash watercolor pencils and blending brush.  I popped everything up using journey foam squares and embellished with a bow in licorice twist journey twine and journey sparkle cuts adhered with journey glaze.

As one of the ten Fun Stampers Journey coaches on the 2016-2017 Leadership Team I had the privilege of attending an amazing retreat in Arizona last month.  I spent a lot of time with fellow members of the Leadership Team, Richard, Gabby and the rest of the FSJ corporate team.  It was a once in a lifetime trip that I will never forget.  There were meetings and feedback sessions and planning for the future and of course STAMPING!!!  We had the honor of creating with members of the FSJ design team - we were totally spoiled with lots of current and UPCOMING products.  Seriously, spoiled.  We also had a card swap; below are the swaps I received.  I love them all!!

It all started with one card.  I created this card and liked it so much I used it as inspiration for two different tags I made - one for a gift and one for bottles.  The base of the card is whip cream card stock, I colored it using my Party Pop PanPastels to create a sunrise/sunset effect.  I die cut the trees from denim days card stock using my winter hills die and journey platinum machine.  I stamped "Peace" from the Holiday Script bundle in clear pigment ink and heat embossed with journey silver embossing powder and my heat gun.  I then die cut it using the coordinating set.  I ripped pieces of whip cream card stock to create the snow and embellished with denim days sparkle ribbon.  I added silver PanPastel to the trees and top of the snow to give some shimmer.  I also used journey foam squares to pop the trees up for added dimension.

I used the same techniques and products for the tags below.  The tags were cut using my reversed banner die set and journey platinum machine.  I also added journey sparkle dust in place of the silver PanPastel.  The moon was created by cutting a circle out of a Post-It note and coloring with the PanPastels.  I carefully removed the Post-It note leaving the white moon.  The gift tag is large and uses all the trees from the winter hills die, the bottle tags are much smaller and only utilize the smaller trees.

I am back to cold and snowy Ohio.....as soon as I got home from the airport I warmed up with a yummy cup of hot coca!  One of the many things I love about Fun Stampers Journey is the generosity they show.  This card was done with all sorts of FREE items!!!  All year, FSJ offers a FREE Bloom Benefit for every $50 spent.  There are choices in our annual catalog as well as choices in each mini catalog that comes out.  The cup of hot cocoa stamp, die to cut it out and wooden snowflake embellishment were all free Bloom Benefits!  This card uses one of my favorite color combinations - cool pool, whip cream and dark roast.  The base of the card is cool pool card stock layered with dark roast card stock.  I stamped a piece of whip cream card stock with the Striped Love background stamp with whip cream ink - I love the white on white effect it gives.  I used the border basics die and my Journey Platinum machine to cut the scalloped border out of cool pool card stock.  I stamped my Christmas Mug stamp in dark roast ink on a piece of whip cream card stock and colored it using my Journey Color Splash pencils and my blending brush.  Then, I cut the mug out using my Christmas Mug die and Journey Platinum machine.  I adhered the wooden snowflake to embellish my mug and popped the whole thing up using a journey foam square.

Until the end of the year FSJ is offering 15% off on planner bundles.  You can use planners in a variety of ways - to organize yourself, scrapbook a year in your life or your child's life or just use it as a creative outlet to decorate with stamps, clips and embellishments.

Confession time - I have a whole file folder full of pictures of projects waiting for me to blog and I just haven't gotten to it.  Like all of you, my life gets really, REALLY busy from Halloween until the New Year!  That being said, I am on the Leadership Retreat for Fun Stamper's Journey and we have been told this will be our only two hours of down time so I was inspired to check in.  My room has an adorable outdoor patio so I thought it would be the perfect little spot to work, you can't see it from my picture but to the left is a giant swimming pool with a slide and waterfall I can listen to :)

This card was totally inspired by my trip to Phoenix.  I designed it a month or two ago and it's been sitting in "the folder" (see above) since then.  This isn't a stamp set I would typically buy but every time I flipped through the catalog it caught my eye so I finally gave in a purchased the Desert Greetings bundle.  The base of the card is candy apple card stock layered with whip cream card stock.  I cut a piece of black licorice card stock using my Sun Rays die and Journey Platinum machine.  I embossed the images from the Desert Greetings stamp set on whip cream card stock using.... **** You guys!  We interrupt this post to admire two hot air balloons over the desert.  I'll post a picture below - they look further away in my picture than they actually are.  SO cool! ****  ....Okay, so I stamped on whip cream card stock using my clear pigment ink pad and heat embossed using black embossing powder and my heat gun.  I then die cut the images with the coordinating dies and my Journey Platinum machine.  I colored the rose using candy apple and kiwi slice reinker with my blending brush.  I popped everything up using journey foam squares and embellished with a beautiful bow out of candy apple satin ribbon.  Super simple card, but I think the color combination really makes it pop!

This card uses the Artsy Leaves stamp set and the Color Burst Pencils.  I stamped the leaves on whip cream card stock in black licorice ink and colored them with red, orange and yellow Color Burst Pencils.  I used my color burst blenders and odorless mineral spirits (gamsol and baby oil will also work) to soften the coloring lines and make the color very smooth.  I kept the colors totally separate for an intense color blocked look.  The cards in THIS POST also used the Artsy Leaves set and Color Burst pencils but I blended the colors together instead of keeping them separate.  The base of this card is rock candy card stock layered with black licorice card stock and then the stamped whip cream card stock on top.  The 'life in beautiful' sentiment is one of my favorites and is from the Sweet Home stamp set.  I embellished with silver silk and black licorice twine.
Here is another cute card using a stamp from the Holiday Catalog - last day to purchase is tomorrow!  The base of this card is oatmeal cookie card stock layered with green olive card stock I dry embossed using the Say It folder and my Journey Platinum machine.  I stamped the Crows Pal ATS in dark roast ink on butter cream card stock.  I colored with various Color Burst pencil colors and smoothed out my pencil lines using my color burst blending tools and odorless mineral spirits.  I adhered my scarecrow onto a piece of dark roast card stock and popped it all up using journey foam squares.  I embellished with some journey natural twine, dark roast silk, gold silk and journey glaze on the jack o'lantern face.

I knew when I saw the Artsy Leaves bundle I had to have it.  Fall is my favorite time of year, so I am automatically drawn to any autumn themed sets.  This one caught my attention because it's different than the typical leaf set, most of what I own are realistic leaves (which are also gorgeous!), this set gives a fun and whimsical twist to your leaf cards and scrapbook pages!  I designed this card for my monthly stamp club members and I wanted them to have some fun and experiment with my Color Burst Pencils so I made the card neutral black and white so they could use any colors they pleased.  Some went with typical fall colors of red, orange and yellow and some really got creative with rainbows and different color patterns.  It was fun to see each person's creation - just like real leaves, they were all different and all beautiful!  The base of the card is whip cream card stock layered with a piece of black licorice card stock.  Again, I wanted to keep it very neutral so for the background I used the piercing pieces from my journey circles dies and my journey platinum machine to create pierced circles randomly around the piece of black licorice card stock.  My Bloom Tool worked perfectly to brush out any little chads so the whip cream card stock showed through each little hole.  I stamped the leaves on whip cream card stock using black licorice ink.  I colored the leaves using my Color Burst Pencils and blended them using by color burst blenders and odorless mineral spirits (baby oil or gamsol will give the same effect).  I cut the leaves out using my dies from the bundle and my journey platinum machine and popped them up using journey foam squares.  I stamped the 'life is beautiful' sentiment from the Sweet Home stamp set in black licorice ink on a piece of whip cream card stock I hand cut into a banner.  I added a simple, neutral embellishment with the Metal Accent piece.

I love, love, LOVE our PanPastels!!  This card is super easy, super quick and super stunning!!  I die cut a piece of whip cream card stock using my Sun Rays die and Journey Platinum machine.  I used the red, orange and yellow PanPastels from the Party Pop set to color the sunburst and then went over everything with my Brushed Gold PanPastel to give it some shimmer.  The PanPastels layer and blend SO easily.  I adhered the sunburst to a piece of black licorice card base and hand cut a banner from whip cream card stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Begin Adventure ATS in black licorice ink and embellished with a rainbow drop.

I periodically tuck little notes into my children's lunch boxes for a fun surprise in the middle of the day; I put these together quickly the night before school started.  The cards are the same except one uses citrus cooler card stock and one uses cool pool card stock as the base.  I stamped the submarine and sentiment from the 'An Adventure' ATS in black licorice ink on whip cream card stock.  I fussy cut the submarines and I cut the sentiments into banners.  I colored the submarines using the Journey Color Splash watercolor pencils (LOVE LOVE LOVE these pencils!!  They are SO easy to use!).  I cut a layer of black licorice card stock and popped each submarine up using journey foam squares.  I embellished with silver journey silk, special celebration sequins, journey glaze on the submarine windows and river stone satin ribbon on my citrus cooler card and cool pool satin ribbon on my cool pool card.  Finally, I wrapped black licorice journey twine around both cards.

FSJ is offering 6 specially priced Holiday Sparkle Bundles in the month of August - get them before they're gone!!  These bundles are specially priced AND include an insert for a project that can be created with the items in the bundle.  Super fun, super cute!!
