Now, on to our card for today! We were invited to a pool party last weekend and I thought the Under the Sea bundle (buy the bundle to save money!!!) would be the perfect set to use for a thank you card. I heat embossed all the images in black and then colored using Fusion Blender, Blending Brush and Reinkers (Citrus Cooler, Kiwi Slice, Pineapple Smoothie, Grape Fusion and Beach Ball). I embossed a piece of Pool Play with the Yummy Dots embossing folder and layered it on a piece of Beach Ball card stock and Grape Fusion as the card base. I popped the pieces up using Journey Foam Squares and added some bling with Journey Blue Skies Sequins. Finally, I added Journey Glaze to their eyes, because no card is complete without a little Journey Glaze!

It's back to school time and with that sometimes comes the "back to school blues." Help your kiddos make it through their day by adding a little note in their lunchbox. I try to surprise my little ones with a note at least once a week. They're fun, quick and easy to make. They don't have to be super fancy or have a lot of layers.
This note uses the Butterfly Prints bundle. I stamped it in Beach Breeze ink and used the Fusion Blender and Blending Brush to add some Sweet Pear on the butterfly. I stamped the Ink Splat ATS (love this stamp for a random background image!) in Lovely Blue ink for the background. The Lovely Blue ink is the perfect ink to make a subtle shadow or background. It's super light and just adds a "little something." I stamped the "You are....Awesome" from the Little BIG Greetings set; because my kiddo IS awesome!!! Finally, I added some bling with the Blue Skies Journey Sequins.
This note uses the Under the Sea bundle and is, again, colored with the Fusion Blender and Blending Brush. I used Beach Breeze, Kiwi Slice and Pool Play for my colors. I did the same background for the seahorse as the butterfly above - Ink Splat in Lovely Blue ink - mornings are busy, use as many duplicate techniques and supplies as you can! The sentiment is from Little BIG Greetings and I added some bling with Blue Skies Journey Sequins.
I love, love, LOVE this mermaid stamp!!! Isn't she pretty?! Even better, she's FREE!!! This stamp set is called Mermaid Wishes and is one of the Bloom Benefits offered for free when you spend $50 (all the options are on page 5 of the catalog). I colored her with the Fusion Blender and Blending Brush using Banana Cream, Hazelnut Blend, Pretty Amethyst and Cool Pool reinkers. I stamped her in Black Licorice ink and then heat set to prevent the lines from running and bleeding when I colored. I added some Blue Skies Journey Sequins to bling up her tail and popped her up on a card of Cool Pool card stock.
This stamp cracks me up! He reminds me of Grumpy Cat. The stamp set is called Feed Me and, like Mermaid Wishes, is one of the Bloom Benefits choices you can earn for free on page 5 of the catalog. I stamped the kitty on a piece of designer paper from the Journey Basics Pastels Paper Pack and then cut him out and popped him up. I used Ink Splat and Lovely Blue ink to make a background. I stamped "Are You Kitten Me?" (also part of the free Feed Me set) in Cocoa Powder ink on the bottom right of the Lemon Grass card. On the inside I wrote, "It's not the weekend yet?!"
My nephew turned 6 this month - SIX! Time goes too fast! Cards for kids are so fun because they always have bright colors and happy sentiments. For his card I used the Pocket Card die which lends itself well to gift card giving and invitations. I slid his note in the front pocket and a gift card in the back pocket. The die makes this fun fold super easy because it cuts and scores in just one pass through the Journey Grand machine. The colors are bright and cheerful - Summer Days and Huckleberry Fusion - perfect for a little boy. I used two items I earned for FREE from Fun Stampers Journey. FSJ has a program called Bloom Benefits and for every $50 you spend you can choose an item for free. The options are listed on page 5 of the catalog; there are stamps, dies and embellishments to choose from. I used the Star Marquee stamp set and Star Frame Elements to embellish. FSJ loves coordination, so it comes as no surprise that the Star-Dom dies perfectly match the Star Marquee stamp. Too fun!
Unfortunately, sometimes we have to send sympathy cards. I think people really appreciate when you take the time to make them a card to let them know you are grieving with them.
This card uses the Dahlia Burst bundle from Fun Stampers Journey. I love how many of the stamp sets have coordinating dies. It really makes it fast and simple to create cards with a lot of design and dimension! When you purchase them together in a bundle you also save money - win, win, win!!!
This card uses the Script and Every Day stamp sets, as well as, Lemongrass Thread and Pearls to embellish.
To color the flower and leaves I used the Fusion Blender, Blending Brush and Reinkers (Pretty Amethyst, Grape Fusion, Pretty Pansy, Lemongrass and Kiwi Slice). I heat embossed the images in black before coloring.
Heat emboss your image
Use the Fusion Blender and Reinkers to color, add them to a clear block for a palette
Use your Blending Brush to pick up a small amount of the Fusion Blender, then grab some ink
Color your image with the lighter color
Use the darker color to add dimension to your image
Thanks for stopping by,
